Wave 1 of Understanding Society is now in the field and the design of wave 2 is in the early stages. The purpose of this meeting is to gain views on the priorities for content to be included at wave 2 and beyond and to map out when modules should be included across the life of the survey beyond wave 2.
A consultation paper setting out the current proposals for the long-term content of the survey is now available; please with your comments. An agenda for the afternoon will be circulated and made available prior to the meeting.
The meeting is free and we hope you will be able to attend. A buffet lunch will be available before the meeting from 1pm.

Understanding Society is the UK’s major new household panel study. It will be the largest and most ambitious of its kind in the world, following 40,000 UK households for up to 20 years. The results of the study will assist with understanding the long-term effects of social and economic change. It will help policymakers to develop and assess policies to make people’s lives better. An opportunity to meet the researchers behind ESRC’s internationally renowned portfolio of longitudinal studies and share our enthusiasm for this new ground-breaking study
